Explore the Beauty of the Brdy Highlands

Victory Memorial at Slivice; 750 m
Situated on a hill between Milín and the village of Slivice, the Victory Memorial commemorates the final battle of the Second World War fought on the European continent.
Designed by architect Václav Hilský and unveiled in 1970, the monument is distinguished by two impressive granite pylons standing 10.5 and 11 metres high.
Every May, commemorative ceremonies and historical battle reenactments are held at the memorial.

Vojna Memorial; 4,6 km
The Vojna Memorial is one of the Czech Republic's most significant memorials dedicated to the victims of the communist regime.
Originally built as a forced labour camp between 1947 and 1949, it later became a prison for political opponents of the communist government.
Today, visitors can explore an authentic memorial site documenting one of the most important periods of modern Czech history.
Svatá Hora Pilgrimage Site; 9 km
The magnificent Svatá Hora (Holy Mountain) is one of the most famous Marian pilgrimage sites in Central Europe and one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in the Czech Republic.
Originally built around a 14th-century chapel, the site was transformed into its present form by the Jesuits in the 17th century and has welcomed pilgrims for more than 300 years. A major restoration was completed in 2015.
For visitors looking for a little exercise, we recommend approaching the complex via the historic Holy Mountain Steps (Svatohorské schody), which lead directly to the sanctuary.
Château Vysoká – Antonín Dvořák Memorial; 9,4 km
Nestled in the peaceful village of Vysoká u Příbrami, this charming Neo-Renaissance château was built in the second half of the 19th century by Count Václav Robert Kounic, the brother-in-law of the world-famous Czech composer Antonín Dvořák.
Dvořák spent many happy summers here and found inspiration for some of his greatest works in the surrounding countryside. He even converted a nearby granary into his family residence.
Today, the château houses the Antonín Dvořák Memorial, where visitors can learn more about the composer's life, work, and close connection with the region.
Orlík Castle, 20 km
Perched above the picturesque Orlík Reservoir, Orlík Castle is one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic.
Originally founded as a royal castle in the 13th century, it underwent several reconstructions before receiving its present Neo-Gothic appearance during the 19th century under the ownership of the distinguished Schwarzenberg family.
Visitors can explore richly furnished historical interiors featuring period furniture, paintings, porcelain, hunting trophies, decorations, and the private apartments once occupied by the Schwarzenberg family.
Surrounding the castle is a magnificent English-style park with rare trees and the impressive Schwarzenberg family mausoleum, making Orlík an ideal destination for a full-day excursion.
Dobříš Château; 21 km
Often referred to as the "Czech Versailles", Dobříš Château is one of the finest Rococo residences in the country.
Originally a Renaissance castle, it was rebuilt into an elegant Baroque residence during the 18th century and surrounded by magnificent French and English gardens.
After extensive restoration, visitors today can admire its beautifully preserved interiors, impressive ceremonial halls, historic library, and ornamental gardens with spectacular fountains.

Březnice Château; 13 km
Located in the historic town of Březnice, this beautifully preserved Renaissance château was created by rebuilding an earlier Gothic fortress.
Visitors can admire elegant Renaissance architecture, richly decorated interiors, a historic library, and the attractive château park.
The château is open to the public and is managed by the National Heritage Institute.
Březnice is easily accessible from Milín by train, with the railway station conveniently located close to the château grounds.
Pilská Reservoir & Tok Mountain; 13 km
The Brdy Protected Landscape Area is one of the Czech Republic's most attractive destinations for hiking, cycling, and nature lovers.
The Pilská Reservoir, originally known as Sophie's Pond, was constructed between 1849 and 1853 as a source of drinking water for the Příbram region. Today, it forms part of a peaceful natural landscape surrounded by forests.
Nearby lies Tok Mountain, at 865 metres above sea level, the highest peak of the Brdy Highlands. The area offers spectacular scenery, well-marked hiking and cycling trails, and exceptional opportunities to discover one of Central Bohemia's most beautiful natural landscapes.
